Delhi registered 52 fresh cases of Covid-19 and one virus-related death in the last 24 hours. With this, Delhi’s positivity rate currently stands at 0.08 per cent.
Delhi also recorded 45 recoveries in the last 24 hours, after which the city’s recovery tally has reached 14,11,280.
On Monday, Delhi reported 39 Covid-19 cases and one death, while the number of active cases in the city dropped below 500 for the first time since April last year.

The new cases on Tuesday have pushed Delhi’s total caseload to 14,36,852, while the death toll now stands at 25,068.
Delhi at present has 504 active cases of Covid-19.
Delta variant found in 80% Covid samples sent for genome sequencing: Delhi health minister
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Tuesday that the Delta variant of coronavirus has been detected in at least 80 per cent of the samples sent for genome sequencing by the government in the last three months.
The health department had earlier said the Delta variant (B.1.617.2) was detected in 83.3 per cent of the samples sent for genome sequencing in Delhi in July.
In May and June, the variant was found in 81.7 per cent and 88.6 per cent of the samples, respectively. In April, it was found in 53.9 per cent of the samples.
The Delta variant was identified in India in December 2020 and has subsequently been detected in over 95 countries. It was majorly behind the deadly second Covid wave that infected lakhs and killed thousands in the country.
